Showing a bit of my inner nerd here, I've been putting together my own D&D adventure; mapping, room descriptions and so on.  Even putting together a few challenges and puzzles for the adventurers (sometimes it's fun to play the bad guy ;) ). Humm... Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, I saw the movie ad before anything else and decided I wanted to read the book/s before the movie came out.  Well I got through the first three books without a hitch, nothing stupendous but the stories were fun to read and I wasn't bored. Now I've gone out and seen the movie... Frankly I can't see how people claim this series is supposed to compete with Harry Potter?!  I like Harry Potter, I'm not obsessive or anything over the series, but to be quite frank the Movie adaptation of Percy Jackson was terrible!  Unlike HP they didn't stick to the book at all, they just seemed to pick bits out of al
